Wax Melts 101: Your Cozy, No-Flame Guide
What Are Wax Melts?
Wax melts are small pieces of scented wax you warm in a wax warmer—no flame, just fragrance. As the wax warms, it releases aroma into your space and can be rewarmed multiple times until the fragrance fades.
Why ours? Hand-poured in PA • vegan • dye-free • phthalate-free fragrance oils • slow, balanced scent throw.
How to Use Wax Melts (Step-by-Step)
- Choose your warmer. Electric warmers are the easiest.
- Pop in a cube. Start with 1 cube (about 0.5–1 oz).
- Turn on & enjoy. Give it 10–20 minutes to bloom.
- Take scent breaks. Your nose adjusts after a while (“noseblind”), so step out for 4 hours or more and then come back—you’ll notice the fragrance again.
- Re-use. Each cube is typically reusable 4–5 times (when you can’t smell it even after a break, it’s truly done).
- Swap scents. Turn off, let wax cool slightly, then remove (see cleanup tips below).
Tip: Open windows and fans can dilute fragrance. For best results, warm in an average-sized room with doors/windows mostly closed.
How Long Do Wax Melts Last?
That depends on warmer strength, room size, and the scent itself, but a single cube generally throws scent for 8–12 hours total, across multiple sessions.
Safety & Care
- Use only in UL-listed electric warmers or tealight warmers as intended.
- Keep out of reach of children & pets.
- Never add water or oils to melted wax.
- Place warmers on heat-safe, stable surfaces away from drafts and fabric.
- Unplug/turn off when leaving the room.
Cleanup: Three Easy Methods
- Cotton Ball Method (while warm): Turn off the warmer, add 2–3 cotton balls to soak up melted wax, wipe bowl clean.
- Cool & Pop (while cool): Place the dish in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes; the wax puck often pops right out. Always let your dish return to room temperature before reheating.
- Paper Liner: Use reusable silicone or paper liners in your dish for super-quick swaps.
Storage & Freshness
Keep melts cool, dry, and dark (a drawer or cabinet is perfect). Seal opened clamshells or bags to lock in fragrance.
Summer tip: We ship Mon–Wed to help everything arrive fresh through heat.
