Beyond Pumpkin Spice: Fall Home Fragrances for Every Kind of Fall Person
There’s something about the first hint of fall that makes you want your whole house to smell different.
Maybe you’re ready for warm apple pie and cinnamon before the first leaf even changes. Maybe you’d rather skip the super-sweet scents and go straight for cool autumn rain, cozy woods, or something that reminds you of a crisp fall day.
And yes, pumpkin spice definitely has its place. But fall fragrance can be so much more than pumpkin.
If you’re ready to start bringing a little fall into your home, here are a few ways to find the kind of autumn scent that feels most like your fall.
For the Bakery Scent Person
You know who you are. 😂
If it smells like something should be coming out of the oven, you’re probably going to love it.
Fall is made for bakery scents. Warm apples, cinnamon, buttery pastries, coffee and all those cozy fragrances that make the house smell like someone has been baking all afternoon.
Baked Apple Pie, Cinnamon Rolls, Coffee House, Pecan Pie, and Peach Pie Filling all fit right into this kind of fall.
Wax melts are one of my favorite ways to enjoy these richer scents because you can pop one in the warmer and let that cozy fragrance work its way through the room.
For the Crisp, Rainy Fall Day Person
Not everyone wants their house to smell like dessert.
Some of the best parts of fall are the cooler mornings, rainy afternoons and that fresh feeling that finally comes back after a long, hot summer.
Autumn Rain gives you a completely different side of fall than the traditional bakery scents.
If you love the season but pumpkin, cinnamon and super-sweet fragrances aren't really your thing, don't worry. There are plenty of ways to make your home smell like fall without making it smell like you baked a pie.
For the Cozy Cabin Person
Give me a chilly evening, a blanket and somewhere cozy to disappear for a few hours and I'm happy.
This is where the warmer and deeper fall fragrances come in.
Scents like Cozy Cabin, After Dark, Gentlemen’s Library and Vanilla Emberwood bring out that darker, cozier side of the season.
They're also worth trying if you share your home with someone who isn't crazy about sweet bakery fragrances. Not every fall scent needs pumpkin, apple or cinnamon to feel cozy.
For the Apple-Over-Pumpkin Person
Pumpkin gets most of the attention every fall, but apple deserves some love too.
Pumpkin Apple gives you a little of both worlds, while Baked Apple Pie goes straight into that warm, cozy, fresh-from-the-oven territory.
Apple scents are also an easy way to start sneaking fall into the house in August. You get that first little taste of the season without feeling like you've jumped straight into Thanksgiving.
Although, if you're already completely ready for pumpkin everything, I won't judge. 😂
For the “I Just Want My House to Smell Good” Person
Maybe you don't have a specific fall personality. You just want to walk into your house and think, oh, that smells good.
That's where having different ways to use home fragrance comes in handy.
Wax melts are great when you want to turn on a warmer and let the fragrance fill the room for a while.
A Home Fragrance Spray is an easy option when you want a quick burst of fragrance without turning on a warmer. It's also nice when you want to freshen things up quickly before company comes over or just change the feel of a room.
And then there are Vacuum Discs.
They're one of those little things you might not think about until you try them. Place one near or on your vacuum filter and enjoy a little fragrance while you clean. Just keep it out of the vacuum bag or canister.
You don't have to fragrance every part of your home the same way. You might love melts in the living room, grab a Home Fragrance Spray when you want something quick, and use a Vacuum Disc while you're cleaning.
Your Fall Doesn't Have to Smell Like Everyone Else's
That's one of the things I love most about fragrance.
Fall doesn't have just one smell.
For one person, it's apple pie at their grandma's house. For someone else, it's coffee on a cold morning. It might be a rainy afternoon, a cozy cabin, a bonfire, pumpkin cookies or something completely different.
So if pumpkin spice isn't your thing, you're still allowed to be completely ready for fall.
And if you've been waiting since June to make everything smell like pumpkin?
You're among friends here. 😂
Fall fragrances are starting to make their way back to Country Soul Scents, with plenty of cozy scents to choose from as we head toward the season.
Whether you're a bakery scent person, a rainy-day person, an apple-over-pumpkin person or somewhere in between, I hope you find one that smells a little bit like your version of fall.
